I was unaware of this lovely and incredible location but my love made me known, and I had to pay a visit to Sudhan Gali only for my LOVE..................This Gali is my Love Castle (Piar ki Haveli)

Some Description regarding Sudhan Gali (taken from web pages)

Sudhan Gali (also known as Suddhen Gali) is a village located in Bagh District, Azad Kashmir. It lies on the main road that connects the district Bagh to Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Kashmir and also connects the town of Chikkar with Bagh city. Sudhan gali is located at the height of 7000 feet. This beautiful, scenic place attracts hundreds of tourists from allover Azad Kashmir and Pakistan. There are two guest houses for tourists. These guest houses are constructed very beautifully and attract large number of people each summer however, these houses are occupied mostly by well known, well connected/influential people and are not available most of the times for common tourists due to lack of a transparent system that would accommodate ordinary tourists. Other well known places in Sudhan Gali include Rasheed Shaheed Cricket Ground located in Copra and Khala But.
Sudhan Gali is also home to some of the rarest forests in the region containing pine trees that are hundreds of years old. Due to lack of knowledge/interest, these forests are now endangered to become extinct as locals continue deforestation by cutting down trees yet local/state governments seem to have no interest in saving them.
There is a cricket ground near the Ganga Peak known as Ser Ground, located between two mountains, it is not very large but looks very beautiful. Every year in June a cricket tournament is held there in which sixteen teams of District Bagh and Muzafarabad participate.
Kashifthegipsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15949460536165464130noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010731715193026750.post-59511437484680564632011-04-15T10:10:00.000+05:002011-04-15T10:12:14.243+05:00Sudhan Gali the Love Castle (Slideshow)In these slide one may visit incredible Pakistan, all these slides shows the beautiful Kashmir but special focus is on Sudhan Gali in Bagh District. This photo was capture on the Pipeline Trek in Ayubia National Park, KPK-Pakistan.

Ayubia National Park is a small national park in the Murree hills. The initial area of the park was 1684 ha, expanded through a northern extension in 1998 to make a total of 3312 ha. The park supports one of the best remaining examples of moist Himalayan temperate forest in Pakistan and is surrounded by seven major villages and three small towns (Nathiagali, Ayubia and Khanspur). The national park consists entirely of reserve forests, which spill out of the park area on the west and south sides. The scenery is superb with huge pine forests covering the hills and providing shelter to the larger and smaller mammals. Ayubia National Park is a major recreation area visited by large numbers of local tourists, mostly from Islamabad and Abottabad. No official figures are available, but local estimates suggest that there are about 100,000 visitors per year.

Wildlife:
This park provides refuge to the elusive leopard and the black bear. Bird watching is excellent here. Some of the bird species pass through the park on migration. The population of the Koklass Pheasant and the rare Kalij Pheasant are the highest known for Pakistan. Only 30 individuals of the Kalij Pheasant are known to exist in the park.

Mammals:
Mammals in the park include--Asiatic leopard (V), Black bear (T), Yellow throated marten (R), Kashmir hill fox (C), Red Flying squirrel (C), Himalayan palm civet (R), Masked civet (R) and Rhesus Macaque (C).

Note: T=Threatened, V=Vulnerable, R=Rare, C=Common, ?=Unknown.

Birds:
Birds in the park are--Golden eagle, Himalayan Griffon vulture, Honey buzzard, Peregrine falcon, Kestrel, Indian sparrow hawk, Hill pigeon, Spotted dove and Collared dove.

(Soruece: www.wildlifeofpakistan.com/ProtectedAreasofPakistan/Ayubi...)
Kashifthegipsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15949460536165464130noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010731715193026750.post-74133913650489470682011-03-29T15:22:00.001+05:002011-03-29T15:22:02.685+05:00Hello Mr.

Hello Mr., a photo by KashiftheGipsy on Flickr.

This was taken in Jandali, near Banjusa lake, Rawlakot AJ Kashmir-Pakistan.
Kashifthegipsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15949460536165464130noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010731715193026750.post-784622183281568052011-03-29T15:21:00.001+05:002011-03-29T15:21:01.934+05:00Beautiful Pakistan_Beautiful Kashmir

Beautiful Pakistan_Beautiful Kashmir, a photo by KashiftheGipsy on Flickr.

Bagh was part of the Poonch province in the Dogra days. The story of the couple's infatuation for each other and the relationship that abided between them is the stuff of many (often apocryphal) legends. She remains historically significant for the sheer amount of imperial authority she wielded - the true "power behind the throne," as Jehangir was battling serious addictions to alcohol and opium throughout his reign - and is known as one of the most powerful women who ruled India with an iron fist.
The emperor Akbar died in 1605 and was succeeded by prince Salim, who took the regal name Jahangir. After her husband Sher Afghan (who was appointed as jagirdar of Bardhaman at that time) was killed in 1607, Mehr-un-Nisaa became a lady-in-waiting to one of the Jahangir's stepmothers, Ruqayya Sultana Begum. Ruqayya was the most senior woman in the harem and had been Akbar's first and principal wife and was also the daughter of Mirza Hindal. The father of Mehr-un-Nisaa was, at that time, a diwan to an amir-ul-umra, decidedly not a very high post.

The year 1607 had not been particularly good for Mehr-un-Nisaa. Her family had fallen into disgrace. Her father, who had been holding important posts under Akbar and Jahangir, had succumbed to his only weakness, money, and had been charged with embezzlement. Moreover, due to possible involvement in the pro-Khusrau assassination attempt on Jahangir in 1607, two of Mehr-un-Nisaa's family members (one brother named Muhammad Sharif and her mother's cousin) were executed on the orders of the Emperor.

In march 1611, her fortune took a turn for the better. She met the emperor Jehangir at the palace meena bazaar during the spring festival Nowruz Persian new year. Jahangir grew so infatuated by her beauty that he proposed immediately and they were married on May 25 of the same year becoming his twentieth wife.

Mehr-un-Nisaa received the name Nur Mahal (Light of the Palace), upon her marriage in 1611 and was conferred the title Nur Jahan (Light of the world) in 1616. Jahangir's actual name was Nur-ud-din Muhammad, and thus the name that he gave to his wife was his own first name combined with the first part of his regal name.

When Jahangir died in 1628, Nur Jahan's brother Asaf Khan took the side of his son-in-law Khurrum against his sister. It was Khurram who became the new Mughal emperor under the regal name Shah Jahan. Nur Jahan was confined to a comfortable mansion for the rest of her life.

During this period, she paid for and oversaw the construction of her father's mausoleum in Agra, known now as Itmad-Ud-Daulah's Tomb, and occasionally composed Persian poems under the assumed name of Makhfi [1].

Nur Jahan died in 1645 at age 68, and is buried at Shahdara Bagh in Lahore Pakistan in a tomb she had built herself, near the tomb of Jahangir. Her brother Asaf Khan's tomb is also located nearby. The tomb attracts many visitors, both Pakistani and foreign, who come to enjoy pleasant walks in its beautiful gardens. All had been personally laid out and designed by Nur Jahan herself.

(Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nur_Jehan)
Kashifthegipsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15949460536165464130noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4010731715193026750.post-29582832982087474802010-10-15T13:06:00.003+05:002010-10-15T13:06:27.183+05:00Tomb of a DARBARI

Tomb of a DARBARI
Originally uploaded by KashiftheGipsy
Khan-eJahan Bahdur Zafer Jahan Kokaltash was the nobles (darbari) of Mughal emperor Arunagzaib Alamgir. He died in 1697 and the tomb must have been constructed in the same time. The building is octagonal in plan with high arches on each side and stands on octagonal platform. The entire building is constructed in cut brick work without any use of red stands stone which makes it significant among other buildings of that Era.
Kashifthegipsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15949460536165464130noreply@blogger.com0
